Ruger LCP Pistol, 380ACP, 2.75" barrel, 6rd, Blue, Glass-Filled Nylon Frame, Polymer Grips, Fixed Sights

by: Lp, Loyal Customer

This is a great little gun I had to wait for it but man does it shoot. I have a keltec 380 that I had to send it back twice. They did fix it but this Ruger came out of the box spitting lead. Nice back up to my Kimber.

The Ruger LCP

by: Weck

11/2/08 I heard great things about this gun and happened to get lucky with snatching it up at a local gun shop. I picked up some magtech 95gr FMC's and went to the shooting range. I ran 50 rounds through it flawlessly. At fist the slide didnt seem to want to close completely but i found that if you pull it back firmly and release it with full force it will close. I recently purchased the Remington goldensabers and have not shot those yet but have found that the slide will jam open if the slide is not released properly. Hope the new recall will fix the problems. Still happy to own!

The Ruger LCP, fine little weapon

by: Geo-Raider

I took this out to the range today, it ate a varied diet of ammunition with not problems. It fires fine, but is one of the models under recall, and for a free clip why not send it in. Soon i will be mating it up with the Crimson trace laser and this will be a nice little carry arm.

This would be a fantastic concealable little weapon if it would only work. I get about 8-10% rate of failure to eject after putting 400 rounds of winchester and remington ammo through the gun. Gun is back in the shop now and I am currently relying on my Bersa Thunder .380 to keep me safe. Although larger and heavier, seems much more reliable!

THE RUGER LCP 380

by: by: OBPD217

WHILE ORIGINALLY ON A 4 MONTH WAITING LIST I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO FIND ONE LOCALLY AFTER ABOUT A MONTH. THE DAY I PURCHACED IT I REALIZED THAT RUGER SENT OUT A RE-CALL NOTICE. I WAS QUITE DISAPPOINTED, HOWEVER AFTER SPEAKING TO CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY TEMPORARILY PUT MY MIND AT EASE. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO FIRE 50 ROUNDS OF BLAZER BRASS HARDBALL THROUGH SO FAR WITH PRETTY GOOD RESULTS. AFTER ABOUT 25 ROUNDS ONLY ONE SPENT SHELL CASE FAILED TO EJECT. I WAS FIRING THE GUN WEAK HAND AT THE TIME, SO IT MAY HAVE BEEN MY FAULT. THE REST OF THE ROUNDS FIRED WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. ACCURACY WAS VERY GOOD OUT TO 25 YDS, BUT THE SIGHTS COULD USE SOME HELP ESPECIALLY IN A LOW LIGHT SITUATION. I HAVE PLANS TO CARRY THIS AS MY BACK-UP GUN. HOPEFULLY IT IS AS RELIABLE AS MY GLOCK 23 WHICH IS MY CURRENT OFF DUTY CARRY.

Ruger LCP

by: spckurtz

Great gun really small and easy to carry. Shoots really accurate. I observed the interior spring is flaring at one end and riding up over the plastic side rail. I have shot less than 100 rounds. Im contacting Ruger for this concern. Really great gun though.

I read several reviews about this gun. I got one about a week ago and went to the range yesterday and 100 rounds no problems at all.I will recomend this little go getter to anyone. and would'nt be caught without it

Ruger LCP

by: Stormn

Bought it for a backup and off-duty. Off-duty, I usually just throw it in my pocket with the chamber empty. Pulled the slide back to chamber one and the shell wouldn't feed. Then it happened over and over again (tried two different kinds of ammo). Haven't shot it on the range much, but haven't had any problems when actually shooting it. Pretty disappointed with the LCP after all the great things I heard.

by: blair

bought a ruger lcp when thet first came out. very pleased with performance. started shooting at 10 yards and backed up to 25 yards still shooting tight groups. carry everywhere i go.

The Ruger LCP-A Pocket Pistol you can wear with anything!

by: YMaster44

I have finally found the weapon that I will take with me...every day...every where I go. It works great with shorts, carried in the pocket or tucked in a belly band. I have several pairs of shorts and pants with cargo pockets on the side...and there is no bagging or sagging if placed in a good non-mapping holster. I have had ZERO misfeeds or ejection problems. I like the Winchester white box...very little recoil...and very accurate at 7-15 yards. IF FINDING A FIREARM THAT YOU WILL CARRY ALWAYS...THE RUGER LCP is the answer to your dreams.

Ruger LCP Problem Follow-up

by: Blackhorse

Actually not a follow up from the initial testing of my daughter's LCP as it is still at the factory getting repaired. However, family purchased me one for my birthday and I took it to the range Saturday with 100 rounds of Winchester White Box hardball ammo. Not expecting to have much luck and was wondering how many rounds I'd get through before I threw it in the trash. To my surprise I fired all 100 rounds without a single malfunction. Granted it was a mimimul test considering only 1 brand of ammo and all hardball, but was very impressed with the functioning and accuracy of the little gun. Even had two magazines, and they both worked flawlessly. Given the problems I had with my daughters, and the complete opposite results I had with mine, while it will make a fine backup piece, I would only recommend it after it's been thoroughly tested with the defensive rounds you're going to carry in it. That means putting it through it's paces with 200 + rounds without any malfunctions. Obviously, hardball ammo is good for range, but for carry/protection, it's UNACCEPTABLE in a round of this size. I've carried it to get use to the feel and placement and it fits great in a pant holster and drops right in my shorts cargo pocket. But my G30 still rides in the IWB holster until I'm convinced the Ruger will do the job. Even then, the Ruger will never replace the .45 caliber round, it's just that I'll be able to carry it anywhere I wouldn't be able to carry the bigger G30. Maybe a good backup for my backup.

Bought two LCP's. Went to the range and both jammed. Had problems feeding two different brands ammo. My gun jammed and so did the wife's. VERY Dissapointed in this from Ruger. I showed the guns to several people since I bought them and sold 4 for Ruger. I hope the others have better luck than me. Now we will see how their warranty is...

Ruger LCP

by: Eagleye

So far I have put approx 350 rounds through this little pistol. During the first 65 rounds I experienced several failures to feed (Hardball). After firing the initial 100 rounds I cleaned the pistol thoroughly and used my dremel tool to polish the feed ramp and the inside of the barrel's chamber. Only cotton and jewelers rouge was used for the polishing. No need for anything more abbrasive than that. After the first 65 rounds and up to 350, I haven't had a single failure to feed or eject. Of the 350 total rounds fired, 13 of them were Winchester Silver Tip Hollow points (they also fed and ejected perfectly). All the rest of the ammo was hardball. Except for the first 100 rounds the pistol was cleaned every 50 rounds during the testing process. I did experience eight faiures to fire. Checking the primers I could see that the indentation left by the firing pin was substantial. The nose of the firing pin looked normal and the firing pin traveled freely in the firing pin channel. I re-chambered the rounds that failed to fire and they all went off on the second try. Interesting to note is that of the various brands of ammo that I fired, the only ones that failed to detonate were REMINGTON. Avoid REMINGTON ammo. Winchester White Box, Winchester Win-Clean, PMC, and Independence brand ammo all fired perfectly. The sights are miniscule, however if you use the sights and have good trigger control the pistol is deadly accurate. At 25 yards you'll have no trouble keeping them into a 5-6 inch group. At 7 yards it was easy to put seven rounds into a group that you could cover with a 50 cent piece. Windage of the seven shot groups was dead on. Amazing! Plenty damn good for a gun of this size. Trigger pull is long, but it is smooth. In reading other comments it seems that other pitols showed evidence of peening on the frame. Evidence of this is non-existent on my pistol. Information obtained from Ruger indicates that they had a bug or two in the pistol that had to be worked out, and that the improved pistols would be dated after July 20th, 2008. Mine is dated from Sept, 2008. Bottom line, I really like the pistol and would trust my life to it. My recommendation is to stick with hardball, break the gun in, and stay clear of the Remington ammo, unless you are willing to shoot 200-250 hollow point rounds for reliability testing. I cronographed the hardball rounds and they gave velocities in the 875-900 feet per second range. If not for the trouble with the light hits, I'd give this pistol a 5 star rating.

Ruger LCP Trigger Failure

by: Xistorman

Just received my Ruger LCP yesterday and purchased the crimson trace laser sight at the same time. Assembled the sight on the LCP and dry fired the gun ONCE - BROKEN TRIGGER ON THE FIRST PULL! Went to call Ruger, but of course they are only open on the weekdays. Will call Monday morning, but as you might expect I AM NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER! Ruger quality control should have been able to detect this problem; it is known in the industry as an "infant mortality" and Ruger should have ample tests to detect this type of early life failure. I agree with the other posts that say this is a brittle failure mode in the cast material. I hope Ruger is willing to take care of this quickly, as this has left a bad taste in my mouth after waiting 6 weeks to get this little beauty and never getting a chance to fire it. I will let everyone know how Ruger service handles this issue.

Ruger LCP

by: First & Last Ruger

Purchased a new Ruger LCP today and immediately went to the range after giving it a thorough cleaning. Trigger mechanism broke on the first shot! This will be my first and last Ruger!!

Ruger LCP

by: Copper

I bought the LCP as an off duty weapon to throw in my pocket. I went to the range and shot various types of ammo through it. I found that it consistently fed and fired with hard ball ammo and had some feeding issues with various jacketed hollow points. With the velocities involved, the hard ball ammo will do the trick and I am quite happy with the quality of the LCP. I don't go anywhere without it.

Jamming

by: nocona

New LCP...jammed or failed to eject consistently. After 100 rounds, I got through a magazine with only the last round not seating.

Ruger LCP Problem

by: Blackhorse

Extremely unimpressed with the functioning and quality of the gun. Was expecting a whole lot more from all the positive reviews I've read on it. Purchased it for my daughter who is an undercover narcotics agent. Took it to the range and in every magazine load it would fire two or three rounds and then fail to go back into full battery and fail to fire. Using 3 different brands of quality ammunition. Will be sending it back to the factory to see if they can fix it. In the meantime, my daughter goes back to her little Taurus 85 in 38+P. At this time, I would certainly not recommend it especially considering it's intended use. For concealed carry you have to have a gun that goes bang every time, not just two or three times out of six rounds.

I like the LCP as much as the Kel Tec and will keep it as a back up or supplement to it. It seems a good idea to have an extra for various reasons. I''m happy with it.

Ruger LCP .380

by: Redman

9-4-2008 My daughter and I bought 2 LCP's this past weekend. We went to put some rounds through them to test em. We were shooting Magtech FMJ, 95gr. We also shot Winchester FMJ, 95gr, plus Remington JHP (Hollow Point), 90 gr. My daughters gun had two - failure to eject and two - jams between the 40th and 60th rounds. Then the trigger mechanism broke. Most of the rounds were HP with some FMJ mixed in. We're not sure but wonder if the trigger mechanism going bad may have had something to do with the jamming. We shot about 150 rounds through my gun, with about 60 of those being HP and the other 90 being FMJ. We did regular fire and rapid fire trying to see if the gun would jam. My pistol never missed a beat. I had a hard time hitting a 4" target at 4 yards but consistently put them in a 12" area at that distance. Again, this is a close quarters weapon. I'm 6'-1" at 207lbs. The gun handled well in my hand. I only had 1 1/2 fingers on the handle with my pinky finger tucked under the magazine but the gun remained solid in my hand. I like the longer, stiffer trigger pull and view it as a fair Safety. One gun worked, one didn't. If my daughters gun malfunction is a fluke, then this is a good CC gun. Jury is still out that until we get it back and put more rounds through them. Gun purchased at Cabella's for $299.00 We both like the gun.

by: Hog Rider

Jams on everything I've fed it.......... Ruger is going to replace the barrel........ Slide will not close completely on at least one round in every magazine! Very frustrating......... I still want to like this pistol...... we'll see

Ruger LCP Pistol, 380ACP, 2.75" barrel, 6rd, Blue, Glass-Filled Nylon Frame, Polymer Grips, Fixed Sights

by: CC, Loyal Customer

The size of this weapon shocked me immediately, this has to be the smallest gun I have ever seen Truly amazing. Worth the small price, if you need to carry it I worn you you wont even know you have it. The catch for the slide was sticky but who needs the slide to stay back. I would have the feature removed as it is useless. Would be nice instead to have 1 more magazine with an additional bullet or to. Other than that, really darn cool gun.

Ruger LCP Pistol, 380ACP, 2.75" barrel, 6rd, Blue, Glass-Filled Nylon Frame, Polymer Grips, Fixed Sights

by: MJ, Loyal Customer

Awesome little pocket pistol. Looks identical to the Kel Tec 380 PAT that I also have but has a lot more qulaity and balance. Very loud handgun (as expected for small frame 380. Nice fit and finish, Ruger quality and much easier to rock the slide back than the Kel Tec. Much improved trigger pull as well. This is a keeper. I ordered two LCP 380''s and they arrived in two months.

I like it better than the Kel-TecP-3AT The Ruger is more comfortable to shoot & RELIABLE.

RUGER LCP

by: FLASH

This is my second post about this pistol. In the first, we compared the Keltec P3AT and Ruger LCP. Now, I've carried the Ruger for over a month and have range tested it. I had a buttload of .380 ammo from testing the two Keltecs. The Ruger ate all of it without a problem. Aguilla ammo, which was several years old, provided a misfire but that's it. No failures of any kind attributed to the pistol! I carry using Federal personal defense 90 grain hollow point loads and they feed perfectly. From the scary end of the barrel, they are some ugly little pills. I'm a big guy and have hands the size of hams. I have no problem shooting this pistol accurately or hanging on to it. The LCP is a winner in all categories! get one....get two. Yup, they're a bit pricey but you get value for your money. You can trust this little buddy to be there for you. The ONLY beef I have is that if you hit a dud round, you can't just squeeze the trigger again. The slide must be racked back for another try.

Ruger LCP Pistol, 380ACP, 2.75" barrel, 6rd, Blue, Glass-Filled Nylon Frame, Polymer Grips, Fixed Sights

by: JS, Loyal Customer

The recoil didn''t suprise me as the weight has a lot to do with it. Sights not necessary...just point and shoot. If you want something lightweight and good protection you need this pistol. I have carried it everywhere in my cargo pants and it has gone unnoticed. Thanks Ruger!

THIS IS A SURPRISINGLY ACCURATE LIGHT WEIGHT FIREARM. EASY TO CONCEAL, EVEN IN SUMMER CLOTHING. IT'S A JOY TO SHOOT.

The Ruger LCP

by: calbr 45

Purchased new LCP and took it to the range for a test run. Shot ball and my own hand loads through it without a hitch. Did my departmental 50 round duty qualification with Federal hollow points. The pistol ran great. I was able to keep all but one round on a 9 by 11 target insert shooting out to 25 yards. I'm pretty happy with this one. It will replace the Kel Tec 32.

I had been waiting for a company to produce a .380 auto that I could depend on. Heard too many stories about the Keltecs & wasn''t about to buy one. Just bought two of the Ruger LCPs with 4 extra mags. Took my wife out shooting last weekend and put about 100 rounds through them. Not one jam or misfeed. Excellent pistols. Have had Glocks for many years, but am thoroughly impressed with the Rugers. Would reccommend this weapon with no reservations.

HOPING I DON'T FORGET THE GUN IN PANTS AND WIFE WASH'S IT

by: jerry_935

its all they say it is and more! shoots great and so Small! Thanks Ruger!

Ruger LCP

by: Jim22

Have had it for about two weeks. Run about 200 rounds through it. It likes ball ammunition but fails to feed with hollow point. Slide just doesn't go quite to battery. I bought an extra magazine - it comes with only one - and it is the same. Leaves the cases with a dent from the bottom of the chamber/top of feed ramp. Carries easy and is very light. Trigger is long and heavy but shoots accurate if I do my part. This is a tilt-barrel locking breech pistol - not a blowback design. Should deal well with +P or +P+ ammunition.

Had the LCP 3 wks, best on the market for purpose & price, fired 100 rds. No problems but the silver tip is smooth, recomend use it for your carry load.

Ruger LCP -- Ultimate Mousegun

by: Dr. Spiff

While loitering in the gun shop, I asked about the new LCP. Of course, they did not have one... The backorder is horrendous. But another customer happened to be carrying and let me handle his LCP. I compared it to the Kel-Tec and there was no comaprison at all. The Ruger is a firearm, the Kel-Tec is a capgun. Fit and finish is superb, ergonomics are great even for a large hand. While I've not fired it yet, I liked it so much I put my name on the backorder list. After I finally get one and fire it, I'll post another review. Dr. Spiff

Ruger LCP

by: Ruger Rick

Wow! I am very impressed with the LCP. I easily held a 3" group from 15 yards. All the fears i had about putting my XD9 away for the summer and carrying a "pocket gun" are gone.

comparing the LCP and Kel-Tec P3at

by: Flash

I have two Kel-Tec P3at's and one Ruger LCP. Carried the KT for 3 years & $40k + miles. Ruger evolved from the Kel-Tec but they are NOT the same! I bought a boatload of .380 ammo and tried each until I was sure a load would work. When the right load is found, these pistols work 100% with a FIRM hand hold. The pistols HATE some loads! You must test each load to trust your life to these little shooters! Differences: Extractor- KT flat spring steel, R- coil spring loaded steel block. Mags do not interchange as the locking notch differs. Mag bases differ a little, too. Mag cost R- $27, KT- $14. Trigger guard R- Thin, KT- thick. Both- Locked breech which is unusual and very high tech for a pocket pistol! Both come with one mag and a zipper pouch. Manual slide stop R- yes, KT- no. Neither hold slide open at last shot. Price actually paid- R $329, KT $235. Some assembly pins differ on each. Serial # R- cast into frame, KT- engraved on back piece. Ruger grip feels a bit more solid and finer finish on casting.

by: jrock

i bought mine at the local gun show after researching the little gun.well i picked it up then bought it. it has not been to range yet, but soon. i only regret the sticker price. these guns are hard to get in my area, so you know that drives cost up for demand.well i paid top dollar for mine LCP $400.00. if it is quality like ruger has been know to prduce than i am happy. quality guns are not cheap. seescamp$$$$,beretta tomcat$$$ so ruger lcp$$$ okay with me as long as quality is there.

Great to conceal

Just bought a Ruger LCP!

by: RV

I just bought a new Ruger LCP and I must say it is a joy to carry, and to shoot. This is a handgun that can easily be concealed, even in a shirt, or pants pocket. Ruger has given us the right gun, at the right time, and the right price. At $249.99 it is a bargain, and a quality gun as well. I highly recommend you pick one up. You won't be sorry...

Ruger LCP

by: griz312000

Just got my new "Elsie Pea" yesterday. Brought it home and swabbed off the half pint of grease and oil it came immersed in and headed for the range. Fired 100 rounds of Winchester FNJ's and 50 rounds of American Eagle FMJ's without a single hiccup. Accuracy out to 15 yards was surprising for the little girl and recoil is extremely manageable, even though I can only get 1 and 1/2 of my fat little fingers on the grip. Mine is a 2nd generation, so there is no evidence of the peening on the frame some of the 1st generation pistols had. Ruger has now fixed that problem by machining out the area that was having the problem. I'm waiting for some HP ammo to try, as no one in my area carries anything other than paper punchers in .380, but I'm sure they'll function fine, too. This is a high quality, well built pocket pistol that will follow me everywhere as soon as I get some adequate ammo. To all of you whining about Ruger "ripping off" Kel-tec...It ain't even close...like comparing a Lexus to a Yugo!!!

Ruger LCP .380 First Test

by: CCW fan

The Ruger LCP .380 appears to be a worthwhile investment for a small, thin and easy to conceal semi-auto. The first trip the range was uneventful. Fired approximately 100 rounds with both standard and +P ammunition and had one malfunciton (stovepipe - failure to fully eject) near the end of the test firing. The weapon has an extremely smooth but long trigger pull. Trigger finger placement is best when you use the end of your fingertip. Depressing the trigger near the end of the first digit requires you to compress your finger so far that the fingertip is practically touching the grip before the weapon fires. As mentioned in earlier reviews, it isn't a target weapon and is for defensive, short-range use only. For that purpose, this weapons should serve well. I just wish it had come with two magazines.

Ruger LCP

by: encdoc

Great gun for CC, shot at range multiple times, not a SINGLE malfunction of ANY kind with variety of ammo. The only issue I have, and have not seen this addressed in any review on any site is ANYBODY BESIDES ME CONCERNED ABOUT THE LACK OF TRIGGER/SAFETY BLOCK ON THIS GUN. Owners manual repeatedly warns that it may fire if dropped with round chambered. Repeatedly recommends it be carried on empty chamber, which is useless to me. Any comments?

Why would you want sights???

by: Montecristo

Why would you want sights on ole Elsey?? Her purpose is not for shooting down range. She's for reminding some gentleman of his manners when he is in your face, not for a down range fight-- there are other pistols for that purpose. I acquired one of the first of Elsey in Dallas-- shoots very well as a particularly small concealable pistol. But this pistol lacks sight for a reason. If you want sights, you want a bigger pistol for another purpose.

Problematic like Keltec P3AT

by: razz

This gun is a copy of Keltec P3AT and has the same reliability problem. Problems so far I have spotted after researching are broken trigger mechanism, broken firing pin, rough chamber and barrel hood inducing failures to feed and frame peening with the ejected shells. My LCP has rough chamber and failures to feed problem and Ruger won't send a new barrel out. They want me to send my gun back to them and wait for 4-6 weeks. My LCP reliability records so far 1st outing - shot it out of box - Winchester FMJ 170 rounds. 1 failure to feed with the 146th round 2nd outing - Remington UMC FMJ 50 rounds - 5 FTF, 30 rounds of Winchester FMJ - no jams. 3rd outing - Remington UMC FMJ 50 rounds - 4 FTF 4th outing - "fluff and buff" done - UMC FMJ 50 rounds, Winchester 100 rounds - 0 jam 5th outing - UMC FMJ 50 rounds - 0 jam 6th outing - UMC JHP 88gr 30 rounds - 2 FTF (3rd round and 27th round) The gun was cleaned and lubed after each outing.

Ruger LCP

After recently attending the NRA convention in Louisville, KY (May 2008) I was able to handle several of these small pistols. I have been considering the purchase of a small pistol for concealed carry, but the Kel-Tec didn't grab my interest, and I didn't like the feel of it. My experience with Ruger goes back 30+ years, and their quality coupled with customer support was important in my decision. This firearm has several unique features over Kel-Tec such as a slide lock, ergonomical feel to the grips, and improved styling. The only thing that is lacking are the inadequate sights on the released model. At the show one Ruger rep showed my an LCP with 3 point night sights - this is what I recommend you order even if there would be an extra cost.

Excellent hand gun

For my first gun; (sorry hubby, I claim it as mine now), Its excellent. Fits in the palm of your hand - and can't be detected, I can even fit it in my purse! Love it! Can't wait to go to the range now!!

Ruger .380 LCP

by: Oh Yea!!!

I agonized over the caliber vs. carrying concealed. I had a sub-compact XD-40 and it was too heavy and wide. For carrying in my pocket it is the best weapon on the market! I've fire over a 100 rounds of Winchester FMJ and hollow points not a single malfunction. This is the first pistol my wife ever fired, even with the small sights her first four shot were in a 4" group at 7 yards!!! Love it!!! I won't carry anything else concealed!!!

Just received this gun last week - immediately took it to the range. Nice kick for a .380. Compact, fits easily into front pocket. Barrel comes out EASY for cleaning.

RUGER LCP

I picked mine up today at Cabela's for 299.00 it has a slide lock. Fit and Finish looks to be great. Feels solid on pulling slide back. This gun is so small it's not much biiger than a pack of cig's. The barrel seams a bit thin but that might just be me being use to springfield and glock 45's. Although knowing it's a ruger I feel confident if this ever becomes an issue they will be there for me. A+ for making something small enough to put in a pocket and really leaves hardly a trace of anything in my pocket. I think the big lock they give you with the gun will work better on my motorcycle front disc the lock is bigger than the gun but a very nice lock.

I picked up my LCP on May Day. It is absolutely THE best "pocket gun" on the market! Superior in every way to the competition. This gun is what the Kel-Tec P-3AT could have been, but isn't. With typical Ruger quality and reliability, Ruger will sell a lot of these guns. They may be a bit hard to get now, but I guarantee that it's worth the wait. :)

LCP shoots great

by: noname

i recently bought 2 LCPs. put 100 rounds thru ea at range last week, 1/2 Win target ball ammo, 1/2 Win hollow points. not a single jam in either pistol. sights are hard to see (irrelevant in a gun of this type), but when you take time to get the picture, the gun shoots VERY straight @ 7yds, 7 shots cosistently within 8" group centered around the X. i got mine for $329, and i consider this an outstanding gun, esp for that price.

the lcp when ejecting the empties is ripping a section of the rim off and leaving a dent in the casing.not to impressed.the test fired empty they send you was ripped and dented.good quality control.

I got my gun on 04/14/2008 and I think it is a great little gun for its intended purpose.

Ruger LCP

My Ruger LCP fired Winchester White Box, Winchester Silvertip and Corbon hollowpoint ammo without fail. The sights are shallow but usable. The trigger pull is long and hard, but I was still able to put 13 rounds in the ten ring of a silhouette at 7 yards with ease. No malfunctions of any kind. Typical Ruger quality. Outstanding! Super small design, but it works even with my large hands. Ruger is going to sell very, very many of these.

I've been looking for a pocket pistol for some time. .22lr and .25 acp are not enough "ummph" to be considered self defense practical in my book. I considered at the .32acp tomcat. I went to my favorite gun shop to look one over and saw the Kel tech in the more potent .380acp. My buddy who owns the shop recommended the Ruger LCP, stating,"C'mon man its Ruger, you know it has to be of great quality for a reasonable price." I told him to order one for me. Please Ruger get this pistol off back order, I can't wait to get it!

Ruger's New LCP Pistol

by: Gunner

I just got back from the Shot Show in Las Vegas and I was fortunate enough to handle The new LCP 380 Auto from Ruger Arms. At first glance LCP looks very similar to the Kel-Tec P3AT pistol but upon further inspection there are some differences in construction and features that I think are an improvement over the Kel-Tec. Most important is the slide lock on the Ruger LCP. This allows the user to lock the slide to the rear when the LCP is loaded or unloaded. I really like this feature for the safety aspect and because it operates similar to the other firearms I own making training easier. The ergonomics on the Ruger Arms LCP are nicer than the Kel-Tec and the grip feels more like a gun that a deck of playing cards. The lightness and compact size mean this will be a gun that is so easy to carry one could easily forget they have it, which could be it’s only drawback. I have been considering the Kel-Tec for some time now for my wife but the Ruger Arms LCP looks to be a better built gun and seeing as how price will be in a similar range I would rather purchase from Ruger Arms. All the Ruger Arms rifles and pistols I own have always been reliable and accurate and I see no reason why this pistol should be any different.

The Ruger LCP

I saw this at Shot Show 2008 and I just can't wait to get one! I have been a Ruger Arms fan all my life, and the new Ruger LCP is the perfect new pistol to come off their line.
